A long time ago in a place not too far away, Star Wars is the first VHS I can remember watching, beyond repetition. My 50p a week pocket money saved then spent entirely on the toys that I can still smell now, but alas were buried in the garden (why did we do that!?). My 10th birthday was a trip to see Empire Strikes Back in the cinema... I was instantly hooked. Skip forwards a few decades and I've recently run around the Millennium Falcon on set at Pinewood studios, and have a movie-accurate Sandtrooper in my TV room... young habits are our foundations as an adult! As human beings we love nostalgia, love to reminisce and to collect. As well as clearly being no different myself, I'm also in the enviable position of being able to totally absorb and indulge in everything that I love in the world, and get to call it work! To date I've created two '80's Kid' gallery shows celebrating the incredible decade of entertainment that I grew up through. Perhaps every generation thinks the same of their childhood, but personally I see the 80's as the sweet spot in many things... cinematic special effects were still 'real' not CGI; music was focused on artistry; natural talent and flair making the difference in sport before over analysis and perfection sanitised somewhat. Toys and games were solid and with actual catalogues to leaf through before the internet even existed. Cars had style and character... even if by today's standard they didn't work too well. And actors were more iconic too I think!? I have painted some of the greatest who have ever lived, and shall continue to do so. My favourite? To be honest that's easy... Heath Ledger as Joker, one of the most memorable performances in cinematic history. Alongside Arnie as Terminator perhaps... who I actually met my wife through, but that's a story you'll have to read in the book one day. And that's the crazy side of my own passions driving the subject matter for my artwork – through my work I'm connecting entirely with like-minded fans of the same, because of common interests, collectors become great friends, even wives, and when I then get absorbed into those worlds just from the fairly innocuous job of painting pictures for a living, it gets pretty mind blowing.
Lando Golden Tears

His flouro race helmet I swapped out for the championship celebratory gold version that he wore the following day's tyre test. I live embellished editions of this artwork in McLaren Paddock Club's around the world in 2026.
Lando – First Win Miami
Hand embellished, Limited Edition, Framed Canvas. An emotional pressure relieving first race win in Miami. I was live painting at the circuit with McLaren at this exact moment, the only other Brit in the room aside from team members, I was being congratulated like it was my brother or something... and immediately clear what I would be painting as soon as I got back to the studio.

Sold Out - Artist’s Edition

A tongue in cheek 'now in red' portrait, which I nervously unveiled at Silverstone that summer when Lewis had signed for Ferrari but still driving for Mercedes, and in the BRDC Clubhouse where I knew Lewis had a private party early race week. He was seen viewing it with a wry smile, which to me is perfect.

Hand embellished, Limited Edition, Framed Canvas. A moment that happened right in front of my eyes in Mexico City, as I guessed exactly where Lewis would stop the car in front of Paddock Club. It was immediately obvious to me what I would be painting the second I got home... I even painted the background first after the night flight, only hen went to bed. The reason why I do 'this'.
Lewis Hamilton Mexico 17 Car

Mexico 2017, where Lewis didn't podium but clinched the title - and the first title celebration that I saw unfurling right in front of me, when I was live painting in Foro Sol at the circuit. Core memory cemented, and exemplifying exactly why I do this.
Lewis – Silverstone 2024

Lewis Silverstone 2024 win was emotional for the fans, and for the driver, his first win since the devastation of Abu Dhabi 2021, and against the run of form. Following this win Lewis commissioned an artwork from me to celebrate, and as a thank you parting gift to Mercedes for 6 world titles.

Hand embellished, Limited Edition, Framed Canvas. Created for Silverstone 2025, as I was sharing a race week event with Nigel. Celebrating the first British world champion in 16 years which in 1992 was a big moment cementing my love of the sport, and the start of an ongoing project together for his UK tour, to fundraise for UK Youth.
