The ultimate in F1 Sculpture unveiling?

ree

Apologies for the cocky headline... but bloody hell that was as ridiculous as it was unexpected! It was only Five weeks ago that F1 called to commission 'something' to present to Pirelli to celebrate the 500th race that they have been a tyre supplier for, since their involvement on day 1 back in 1950. Only four weeks since my hastily imagined 500th bronze podium cap concept was approved, which just a couple of weeks later was being unveiled on the grid in Monza by the FIA President and F1 CEO, with the entire grid on ceremony to witness. I mean, what!?

So yup, I gave the iconic Pirelli podium cap it's own podium. A highly detailed but small creative project in the general scheme of things, and clearly very hastily created - only possible because of the intense development of our methodology through recent years. But for the general context of its presentation, and the appreciation of it from both F1 and Pirelli, from my side I'm still struggling to compute the magnitude of this a little. I have to thank not only F1 themselves for the belief and trust in this, but my incredible team at Pangolin Editions for far surpassing what is generally considered possible in such a short time frame. F1 style lead times aren't generally appreciated in the art world! No man alone can achieve anything of note.
